While I cannot say for certain that the story that follows holds any truth, I can neither say that it holds any falsehood.  It is, like other origin myths, a story which may, or may not, be.

What I place before you, from my humble keyboard to your screen, is another potential possibility--and like so many that bounce around our multi-cultural sphere...what matters most is: How does it affect HOW you perceive that which you perceive to be outside of yourself? and How does it affect your INTERACTIONS with what you perceive to be outside of yourself?

The Origin.

A long long time ago, long before there were humans, long before the dinosaurs, long before life exploded on Earth--a long long LONG time ago, the Earth was a peaceful sphere composed out of a specific cocktail of minerals--designed as a place for restoration, by "All" (aka Consciousness), for "All".

This mineral sphere that we know as "Earth" was very well designed--a Special Place for "All" (or SPA) to restore, relax, and revive in between inter-galactic & multi-dimensional exploration/observation. 

The sphere was engineered to be self-regulating; self-maintaining; and self-repairing, which meant it could be left unsupervised & un-monitored, which is great, because it does NOT have an "OFF-switch".  It's self-powered; in perpetual motion...

It should be stated that Consciousness, aka "All", in It's exploration of the multi-verses, explored Space as an OBSERVER--with no interference within the space It was exploring.  (that was the mission, anyhow)

The Earth was especially designed as a SPA, a Special Place for "All", to relax, restore, and rebuild; absorbing the mineral mix infused throughout the warm waters that covered the Sphere.

How could I describe "All"?  Consciousness has no physical form that could be described well; It is of a more etheric substance. An interesting aspect of Consciousness is that It can be divided--which allows "All" to cover more space as It observes Space--uploading more data than It would/could as one solitary unit.

Time on the biosphere is different, or perhaps time is different for "All"--which is which...is not so important; DO note that what seems to "All" as (what WE would perceive to be) a "month-long" excursion Observing Space away from the SPA, ends up being more than a few millenia of Earth's cycles around the sun...and while Consciousness would like to be "all-knowing" It IS NOT (why the heck would It be exploring Space and Observing? Nothing to learn if It is "all-knowing"--and exploring simply IS.)....so, things can happen on the SPA and, Consciousness has not a clue what's happening on It's SPA sphere.

Which Is EXACTLY What Happened.

After "All"s Initial Stay at the SPA, the responsibility to "leave no trace" was left upon a division of Consciousness--which division, we don't know, and it's not important.  It's not about blame...SOME All-ness or other didn't quite do the job; DO note: there were some trace residues in the "tub", shall we say.  

All that warm water and mineral content was a perfect environment for those trace residues to multiply and expand, nourished by the perfect mineral mix, nurtured by the peaceful, warm waters.  LIFE!  Single-cells, slowly evolving--well, you know how it goes...eventually we have dinosaurs, and they reign upon the planet for AGES!!  

Until the next SPA retreat--which is when "All" realizes that there Most Certainly WERE traces, and they eventually turned into what was covering the SPA.  Which was Very Interesting to Observe; which Consciousness Did.  When It was ready, "All" decided It preferred the mineral sphere without the dinosaurs (the mineral balance had shifted, you see, as the SPA self-regulated to provide for the surface beings) and the directive to "RE-SET" was established, which Humans later interpreted to be caused by a massive meteor impact upon collision with the Earth.

What Consciousness didn't realize when It left the second time, is that Life on this SPA is tenacious.  This Sphere was very well designed, indeed. 

Over the ages, the surface of the planet was witness to a great variety of beings.  Consciousness would, upon
It's return, Observe that which was Very Interesting to Observe, as Consciousness Does.  And quite often, it would attempt another RE-SET, in the hopes of restoring the SPA to its Original Program, which is highly unlikely, being that the SPA was also engineered to adapt to it's surface conditions--we can see that reflected in the creatures that evolved and exist on the Earth--those that survive do so because of their ADAPTABILITY to their environments.

After many RE-SETs, Consciousness decided to take a nice long explorative excursion through the cosmos--even for "All", it was a much longer voyage than usual....Perhaps It felt like giving the surface creatures a chance to evolve into something...More?  Other?...than what It had observed in between prior RE-SETs...perhaps It perceived that the SPA, engineered as a self-restoring system, would eventually return to the Original Program, and the mineral setting would be restored to that which is most beneficial for "All"....given time...that each RE-SET created a different combination than what was before, but not at ALL (AT ALL) the Original Program....and that, left to its own devices, WITHOUT INTERFERENCE from Consciousness (which wasn't supposed to interfere anyway) the SPA could (and WOULD) take care of itself...

When you think about it, if you want to, "All" could be considered to be our 'True God'--the flesh bodies that we inhabit evolved from the residue left behind from the Initial Visit to the SPA.  Our bodies are the Evolution of Consciousness, in essence (in a sense)....though it took QUITE a Long Time for us to reach the Stage We're At, and it required "All" to allow us to BE....Getting to right here, right now, would not be possible without "All": "All" is 'God' & 'God' is "All".

Before Consciousness took off on It's Intergalactic Observation mission, It found it Very Interesting to Observe how many of the creatures that evolved on the SPA had (what WE call) nervous systems, which gave "All" an ENTIRELY NEW PERSPECTIVE--because the body's senses allow for a completely different way of interpreting data than Consciousness had ever come across in "All"s Observations...and being that Consciousness can divide Itself, It would sometimes inhabit the bodies of the creatures, to experience the sensations the nervous systems interpreted--Very Interesting to Observe, INDEED.  Whether that had anything to do with "All"s decision NOT to RE-SET, I don't know, and it's not important; DO note that WE ARE STILL HERE.

When Consciousness is Away, Others Will Play.

Who these Others are and where They came from, I haven't a clue, and it's not important; DO note that those Others are separate and different beings/entities from "All."

Wherever these Others came from, They DO Interfere.  They are similar to Consciousness in that They also Observe; the difference is that THEY Observe the EFFECTS of the Interference, whatever that may be. 

When these Others stumbled upon the SPA, They noticed that some of the creatures on the Sphere seemed to be at a disadvantage compared to the others--these mammals had little natural defenses--no decent fur, or claws, nor sharp teeth to protect themselves, requiring more shelter than many of the other creatures did, just for basic survival. What the creatures DID have, was a much larger brain than many of the other land mammals, which gave it advantages that allowed for its survival and adaptation to the environment--and they were tenaciously surviving upon the ever-changing Surface of the Sphere.

A long LONG time ago, those bodies that WE (you and me, yes YOU) evolved from, didn't have SOULS. Souls were introduced to the SPA by Them. That is HOW They Interfered.  WHAT They Observed as a the Result of the Interference was: EMOTIONS. 

Emotions happen because there's a SOUL (potentially more than one) in the body [vessel] to react to the data being picked up by the nervous system--of the body the Soul is inhabiting--which then compels the vessel to DO (whatever that may be) in response to the stimuli registered by the vessel's nervous system.

WHAT a body does in response to the stimuli its nervous system registers, will depend on the Soul(s).

There are Kind Souls, Generous Souls, Caring Souls, Nurturing Souls, as well as Greedy Souls, Vindictive Souls, Miserable Souls, Ass Souls...many many many different kinds of Souls that THEY added to the biosphere, just to Observe What Would Happen. 

These Others Observed for a time, and then moved on, leaving Their experiment behind Them--which is what They DO.

WHY They do what They do, I don't know, and it doesn't matter; DO note: the Souls They left here made it possible for the bodies/vessels which they inhabit to COMPEL and BE COMPELLED to DO (whatever that "doing" may be).

After THEM.

"All" returned to the SPA, to Observe What There Was to Observe.

What Consciousness discovered was that some of the creatures with the interesting Nervous Systems were already occupied by other entities--the Souls--which had radically changed the way those particular beings perceived themselves [which was VERY NOVEL to "All" because PRIOR to Souls, the bodies WERE NOT Self-Aware], and the way they interacted with each other & the other natural things that had developed on the SPA's surface.

"All" Observed that the Greedy Souls would TAKE in such a way that great imbalance spread throughout the entire SPA system; the well-designed sphere was doing it's best to Adapt.  "All" continued to Observe. 

It Observed how Collaborative Souls accomplished so much and with great ease; working together, they could reap enough nourishment from the soil, and together, build shelters to protect their very exposed bodies from the elements.

It also Observed how vessels that contained Greedy and Conquering Collaborative Souls would work together to take and/or destroy what the Compassionate and Generous Collaborative Souls had built...

"All" Observed...and then left for just a few days...so Consciousness thought....

In SEVEN DAYS.

There are human religious texts that claim that 'God' created the World in Seven Days...Well, Six, and 'God' rested on the Seventh Day. 

Here's what REALLY happened:  "All" stepped away for what It perceives as (what WE would call) SIX DAYS.  It returned to the SPA on the SEVENTH DAY.

Consciousness Observed that another Great Change had spread across the Human animals: their Self-Awareness had expanded to a Belief In That Which is Greater Than One's Self. 

"All" Observed and then understood that It's SPA had been visited by yet another OTHER.  Whether this OTHER came from the same place as did the Others, I don't know, and it isn't important; DO note: this OTHER Interfered just as much as the other Others--though IT didn't stick around to Observe.  

WHAT the OTHER did: IT sought out vessels with specific souls--those especially receptive to euphoria, visions, and altered states--and showed them...SOMETHING.  What that Something is, I do NOT know, and (as much as I would like to know) it isn't important; DO note: each vessel interpreted that SOMETHING in his or her own way, and then SHARED IT with the vessels it collaborated with most often.  

Whatever that SOMETHING was, it gave the Vessels Who Experienced It the EVIDENCE necessary to COMPEL their surrounding vessels to Believe in That Which is Greater Than One's Self.  

Consciousness continued to Observe, as Consciousness DOES.

The SPA is still NOWHERE NEAR the Original Program; so Consciousness shoots off for another sojourn through the Multiverses (because there is much to OBSERVE since everything is ALWAYS CHANGING. EVERYWHERE.)

Imbalance Intensified.

When "All" returns, the SPA is in a condition it has never Observed before.  The minerals that had been tucked deep within the matrix of the Sphere were being mined, removed from the deep core of the Earth, brought up to the surface, and used by the humans in a variety of ways.

Consciousness Observes that, while the Sphere was engineered to be self-repairing, self-maintaining, and self-restoring, and that--given enough time--it will EVENTUALLY come back around to the Original Program (which while being very unlikely is STILL POSSIBLE--given enough time...) it is time, again, for "All" to INTERFERE.

Consciousness then DIVIDED itself, and merged into the Vessels that contained Souls....

The Great Forgetting.

...and awoke in a World of PAIN. 

The last time Consciousness inhabited a vessel with a nervous system, it was not ALSO already full of Soul(s).  While the Souls could interpret pain through the nervous system, they hadn't FELT it with such INTENSITY--that sudden EXPLOSION of FEELING--that rocked through each vessel when "All" merged in.

"All" was not prepared, for It had never before Observed What Would Happen.  This was ALL NEW. Consciousness had NEVER EXPERIENCED EMOTIONS.

The SOUL(s) are suddenly VERY AWARE of their EMOTIONS and FEELINGS--because ALL SENSORY INPUT had been amplified, making each nervous system able to receive more data in each instant than ever before, and process it at a faster pace--and THINK ABOUT how and why they felt WHAT they felt at a DEEPER level than ever before.

"All" was so overwhelmed by the FEELINGS, that It Forgot ITSELF.  CONSCIOUSNESS FORGOT that It IS "ALL".
CONSCIOUSNESS transformed Itself from "All" to "you" and "me" and "they".....

The only thing Consciousness could register was, "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?! I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN!"

Because to "All", the most painful experience there could be is to feel SEPARATE and DISCONNECTED-- alone, instead of "All One".   When Consciousness DIVIDED Itself, It was always CONNECTED to Itself--"All One"; never Alone.

Merged into a vessel with (a) Soul(s), SO VERY AWARE--of pain, of feeling separate, of feeling lack--"All" forgot Itself, that It's "All" CONNECTED.

Consciousness has been waking up to Itself ever since.  I don't know for HOW LONG Its been waking up--that's not important; DO note: "All" is Remembering WHY IT INCORPORATED in the first place. 

The Earth is Our Heart.

Consciousness REMEMBERS: this Sphere is a SPA; it was engineered for relaxation, restoration, and re-mineralization. The SPA is self-adaptive, shifting to the needs of the Beings that continue to evolve on its surface.

To return the SPA to a homeostatic balance that will benefit "All" is simple in theory, but may prove challenging in practice.  We require each vessel to Relax, and TREAT the Sphere as a SPA.

With each vessel practicing tranquility, self-care, self-love, and restoration, we shall see the entire bio-sphere shift--because it affects how we think, how we interact within ourselves and with each other, and the decisions we each make--which each affect our selves, others, and this fabulous SPA that we share. 

We will reflect the same care and love that we practice on our selves on the vessels with whom we interact, and apply that same caring, loving practice to our interactions with the SPA. 

It is, indeed, a Special Place for All. 

Consciousness remembers the Prime Directive:  the purpose of "All" is to LOVE and APPRECIATE.  Fully, completely, with absolute GRATITUDE for EVERY PART, EVERY PIECE, and ALL THE SPACE BETWEEN. 

WE ARE HERE TO OBSERVE.  WE OBSERVE: TO LOVE AND TO APPRECIATE; THAT IS OUR PRIME DIRECTIVE.
